Authors: Philip C. Stead and Erin E. Stead
2011 Caldecott Medal awarding winning books that happens to be one of my favorite children books I read to children.
Summary:
This story is about an old Zoo Keeper, named Amos McGee, that loves to work and be with the animals. The animals are quite fond of Mr. McGee's company as well. While Amos McGee is at works, he takes time and spends time with each of the animals. Some things he would do is have a running race with the tortoise, keeping the shy penguin company, and even reading bedtime stories to the owl. However, one day, Amos becomes too sick to make it to the zoo! Instead, his animal friends decide it’s time that they return the favor and visit Mr. McGee right at his own home!
